I have been thinking a lot lately about the power of acting with intention, and how it can have an influence on your life. When broken down to a molecular level everything we do must be done with a purpose, that is the essence of human existence. Imagine going through life so carefree that there is no rhyme or reason to what is being done, or said... I imagine a world of total chaos. But then again, isn't that what we are experiencing today?
Think about the world around you; the people of influence, the decision makers... why are THEY doing what they are doing? Can't come up with anything... that's because even they do not know. We live in a world where there is no longer intent or purpose, everything has become carefree and "loose". Now, don't get me wrong, there is freedom in being relaxed and easy going, to an extent. But when it really matters, when emotions, feelings, behaviors, and actions are at stake it is time to take the reigns and gain control. The funny thing about control however, is that we don't have it, or at the very least have such limited control it is easy to give up and feel worthless. Well here is the good news, we are not worthless, and we should not give up!
Living with intention invites a level of accountability into our lives. When we start living with intent people stand up and take notice, and it is this recognition that drives us further towards success. This cannot start at a grand level, and shouldn't, that is way to daunting of a task. In order to affect large change we must first act small. The first step in living with intent is to invite order into our lives, but start small so as not to become overwhelmed.
Consider this; start in your own home, with one section of one room. Maybe it's a closet, maybe it's under the bed wherever, just start with SOMETHING. Clean it, organize it, throw it away do whatever it is you need to do with that section of the room, and do it with intent. After the small section is done, finish the room. When the room is finished take care of another room, then another, then the house... before you know it we will be out in the streets helping our neighbors. We will be working together, with intent, to better our street, our block, our neighborhood. Then it wont take long for neighborhoods to join together, towns, cities... and it all started with that neglected closet in the spare bedroom.
The point is this, when people act with intent they can affect change. It is the intense people who have drive and dedication that come together and move mountains. There is no room for the complacent and the carefree. Everyday I hear talk of change, and I look around at see others looking to everyone else to start... well stop looking and start acting. And in everything you do, whether it be action, speaking, or most importantly loving... do it with the best intentions at heart, and watch the world around you change.
Very well written. You should write some posts with examples of you doing this!
